2023 Polk Arts & Culture Hall of Fame.

Recognizing Outstanding Artists, Cultural Ambassadors, and Supporters of the Arts

The Polk Arts & Cultural Alliance is soliciting nominations for individuals who have significantly contributed to the arts and cultural community in Polk County or enhanced Florida’s national or international reputation as a county with a strong and sustained commitment toward the development of arts and cultural excellence. The Polk Arts & Culture Hall of Fame Gala presented by CORE Wealth Advisors is set for October 17, 2023 at Bonnet Springs Park in Lakeland. Tickets for the event will be available in August.

Please note: In order for the Polk Arts & Cultural Hall of Fame to be representative of the entirety of Polk County, nominators should consider nominees who demonstrate artistic and cultural diversity of genres, racial and ethnic diversity, and geographic diversity.

Nomination Timeline

Nominations are open from April 1 – April 30, 2023 and will be kept on file for 3 years.

Nomination Categories

Artist
Artists of all disciplines are eligible: theatre, visual arts, performing arts, music, etc.

Arts & Cultural Champion
Non-artist individuals who through philanthropy, advocacy, leadership, or all three  – have championed arts/cultural opportunities in Polk County.

Arts & Cultural Educator
Individuals whose primary lifelong contribution to arts/culture has been in the realm of arts/cultural education

Prior to filling out the nomination form HERE, please have the following information available (if applicable) concerning the nominee:

• Number of years applicant has resided/did reside in Polk County — (minimum of at least 5 years)
• Nominee’s name and contact information—E-mail, home/cell/business phone numbers, home address, website page (if applicable)
• A brief history of the nominee—personal bio (place of birth, work experiences, etc.)
• Accomplishments, awards, special recognitions
• Community impact of the nominee’s work, contributions, leadership, etc. to arts/cultural initiatives in Polk County—include any arts advocacy efforts that have had a direct impact on Polk County
• Nominator’s contact information (e-mail, phone number), in case more info is needed about the nomination (this will not be published)
• Category of nomination (Artist, Arts/Cultural Champion, Arts/Cultural Educator)
