Phase 1 of construction is coming to a close!
As we prepare to transition to Phase 2 of the project, the Lakeland Public Library on Lake Morton will close for one (1) week, August 29th through September 5th, to bring back all of the collections, equipment, and furniture for the adult services areas of the building and relocate some of the Youth Services materials.
We will reopen Tuesday, September 6th at 9 AM.
The book drop remains open for returns during the closure period. The Larry R. Jackson Branch Library and the eLibrary are open normal hours that week.
If you are notified that your hold is ready for pick-up at the Main Library during the closure, you can call us at 834-4263 for curbside pick-up between 9am – 5 pm.
Phase 2 of the Main Library construction is slated to start late September and will close the Youth Services area and the Meeting Room for major renovations. Phase 2 is scheduled to take approximately three months to complete. Construction will include replacement of the HVAC system in the Youth Services and Meeting Room spaces, the addition of an ADA single stall restroom off the lobby, new ceiling, lighting, flooring, paint, and some furniture updates.
Youth Services will have a small collection of materials on-site, located in the Main Library Commons. The majority of the youth services collection will be off-site but will remain available for holds.
