Says Cook of TheatreWorks Florida’s production of The World Goes ‘Round: “Kander & Ebb musicals are considered a classic staple in musical theatre history. You know their songs, you love their songs and that’s because they have made you laugh, made you cry and made you enjoy theatre in a way that draws you in and makes you connect with your life and the world around you. The World Goes ‘Round features an outstanding TWF alumni cast in a musical revue that is just song after song of the absolute best Kander & Ebb have created throughout the years. The cast sings, dances, plays kazoos and even roller skates their way through a fantastic evening of pure musical theatre magic! So why should you see The World Goes ‘Round? Well, we have had a bad couple of years with the recent pandemic and this show is about life and how, no matter what, we keep kicking our way through to something better every single day. This show is your opportunity to step outside, enjoy life for a few hours and recall why we go to theatre in the first place… to be entertained, to be emotional but above all to have a shared social, communal, healing theatre experience in a darkened room where life can be anything we want it to be, if just for a little while!

I want to thank both Chris Walsh and Lee Matheny of Haines City Community Theatre for allowing us the use of their venue to perform our musical. Without these two gentlemen, we might not have a show. They both truly believe in all theatre and sharing the beauty of creativity with our entire community.

TheatreWorks Florida is giving an awesome gift of theatre experiences to Polk County and all of Central FL. We hope the community will continue to embrace it. It is beyond thrilling to be at the helm of a company offering professional, year-round programming that will be exciting, empowering and transforming to a community that has never had a professional theatre. We are ready to propel the arts to a whole new level in NE Polk County.”
