Bartow, Florida – Polk Arts Alliance Executive Director, Meri Mass has been appointed by Americans for the Arts (AFTA) to represent the State of Florida in partnership with the Florida Cultural Alliance President, Jennifer Jones to advocate for support of Arts and Culture in Washington, DC beginning in March 2020.
The AFTA coalition for the Arts includes all of the United States who are represented by experts in the field of the cultural arts. The Polk Arts Alliance is the official Arts Agency for Polk County since 2004.
“I’m very excited and honored to have been appointed by Americans for the Arts to join in their advocacy efforts. In addition to advocating for support of the arts in DC, I’m looking forward to bringing attention and awareness to our vast cultural arts sector here in Polk County. It will be exciting to work with experts in their fields on the global impact of the Creative Industries, Cultural Tourism, Arts, Culture and Heritage and Arts in Education (S.T.E.A.M.) as a national initiative.” Meri Mass
As a long time AFTA member, Meri Mass has participated in the Private Sector Council Committee and the State of Florida, Division of Cultural Affairs Strategic Planning and a member of the Florida Cultural Alliance.
