The South Arts Southern Prize and State Fellowships acknowledge, support and celebrate the highest quality artistic work being created in the American South. Nine State Fellows will be selected by a national jury, and a second national jury will select the Southern Prize Winner and Finalist. |

Professional Development and Artistic Planning GrantsApplications due 60 days before activityGrants of up to $1,000 for visual, film, media, literary and performing arts organizations who present and engage guest artistsProfessional Development and Artistic Planning Grants support the professional development needs of Southern presenters/programmers/curators to strengthen program design and increase organizational capacity. Applications are only accepted for professional development opportunities that are new to the organization. Applications for artistic planning activities can include travel to see/explore work for future public presentations, or hold onsite planning meetings with guest artists for future engagements/residencies. For projects taking place by June 30, 2020. |

Express GrantsApplications due 60 days before activityGrants of up to $2,000 for rural organizations who present performing or literary artistsExpress Grants are available for presenting organizations in rural Southern communities (with populations of 50,000 or below) to engage Southern guest performing or literary artists from outside of the presenter’s state. Support is available for theater, music, opera, musical theater, dance, fiction, creative nonfiction and poetry projects that contain both a public performance or reading and an educational component. For projects taking place by June 30, 2020. |
