Turtle Travels Premiers on February 3

Explorations V Children’s Museum premiers its newest temporary exhibit, Turtle Travels, on TuesdayFebruary 3, 2015 at 4pm with a special grand opening celebration. Museum guests are invited to the event for free admission beginning at 3:30pm on that day. Light refreshments will be served.

Turtle Travels, designed for family audiences, offers museum visitors the opportunity to learn more about the life of turtles and the challenges they face through 15 interactive stations including a life-sized board game, a turtle tunnel and a Crittercam view of a sea turtle’s life. The exhibit was developed by the Environmental Exhibit Collaborative (EEC!) with major support from Jane’s Trust and additional support from the Institute for Museum and Library Sciences. The local exhibition is sponsored in part by visitcentralflorida.org. through the Polk County Tourist Development Council.

General admission to Explorations V Children’s Museum is $7 per person. Senior citizens 65+ are $3.50. Military and teacher with ID are $3.50. Children under two and museum members are free. About Explorations V Children’s Museum

Explorations V Children’s Museum, a private 501(c)(3) non-profit organization,  is located in downtown Lakeland in the historic   S.H. Kress Building.  Three floors of mind stretching, kid-powered exhibits and programs provide a hands-on, fun-filled adventure in learning for children and their families. Hours are MondaySaturday, 9am to 5:30pm. Admission is $7 per person. Senior citizens 65+ are $3.50. Military/teachers with current ID are $3.50. Members of Explorations V Children’s Museum and children under  free. Memberships are available beginning at $70.
