Polk Museum of Art proudly presents the second annual Fall for Art Festival, a series of events that highlights the work of emerging artists from Central Florida and encourages art collecting. The schedule includes:
Thursday, November 13
- Art to Wear: Artisans Market
Time: Noon-8 p.m.
Your favorite jewelers and artists are back to dazzle you with their unique “wearable art” creations. It’s a great opportunity to buy a wonderful, hand-crafted present for someone special in your life — or for yourself!
Tea at 2: Enjoy an afternoon of melodies, tea and dessert as you visit with the artisans who are showing their creations in our Art to Wear show. What a lovely way to start your holiday shopping!
Soiree: Meet your friends after work and share conversation, cocktails, hors d’oeuvres and festive music at the annual Artisans Market Soiree. The holiday shopping season begins here!
- Art2 Sale
Time: During Museum hours Nov. 13-15
Artists are donating artworks from 5×5 inches to 12×12 inches, with all proceeds benefiting the Museum. The artists’ names won’t be revealed; pick what you like, and then flip it over to see whose work you chose! (Prices are $25 and up.)
Friday, November 14
Time: 6:30-9:30 p.m.
Admission: $10 members, $15 non-members
Art+Music kicks off our Art+ series of events that will offer new ways to experience the Museum. Enjoy live ’50s music (rockabilly) by The Midnight Bowlers League from Tampa and The WildTones from Orlando as we celebrate the exhibition “Future Retro.” Light hors d’oeuvres, beer, wine and a signature cocktail will be available. Break out your best 1950s attire for our costume contest! The night also will include car part painting, miniature car races and more.
The Art+ series is being organized by The Graces, a new group of young women interested in sharing their time and talents with the Museum. Other Art+ evenings will include Art+Food (January 23), Art+Fashion (April 17) and Art+Skate (June 20).
Saturday, November 15
- Art Crawl
Time: 9 a.m.-4 p.m.
This second annual juried outdoor art show will feature emerging Central Florida artists selling affordable artwork in the PMoA parking lot. Most artworks will be available for less than $300. In addition to the art sale, local bands will be performing original music. There also will be art demonstrations and food trucks.
