Artists: Apply Now for the Creative Capital Foundation Professional Development Workshop

June 6-8, 2014 at the Patel Conservatory in Tampa

The Division of Cultural Affairs and Citizens for Florida Arts, Inc. invite Florida artists to apply for a workshop opportunity in June 2014. This opportunity will be presented at the Patel Conservatory in Tampa by leaders from the Creative Capital Foundation through the Foundation’s Professional Development Program.

The June 6-8 core skills workshop will provide selected artists with valuable skills and training to ensure that their creative careers are sustainable and flourish. It will cover topics such as strategic planning, marketing and promoting your work, and fundraising. In addition to the information on each of the topic areas, participants benefit from the interaction with the diverse group of participating artists. Materials are provided to artists who participate and time for one on one consultations with leaders are made for each artist throughout the weekend.

Creative Capital is a national nonprofit organization dedicated to providing integrated financial and advisory support to artists pursuing adventurous projects in multiple disciplines. Through their Professional Development Program, which has been developed by artists for artists, Creative Capital has provided career, community and confidence building tools to help all artists become successful in their fields. The Florida Department of State, Division of Cultural Affairs has been partnering with Creative Capital to present professional development workshops in Florida since 2007. These workshop opportunities are offered to selected artists free of charge through generous support from the National Endowment for the Arts, Citizens for Florida Arts, Inc. and the Florida Division of Cultural Affairs. This participation is equivalent to a $1,200 award.

Participation in the June workshop is limited to 24 artists. Florida artists in any discipline may apply, but only applicants who have not participated in a weekend workshop with the Creative Capital Foundation in the past are eligible to attend.
