Children's Museum Serves as Venue for Chagall for Children Traveling Exhibit

Chagall for KidsExplorations V Children’s Museum, located at 109 North Kentucky Avenue in downtown Lakeland serves as a venue for the world class Chagall for Children traveling exhibit. The Chagall for Children exhibit is having its soft opening now, with the grand opening during the 33rd Annual Children’s Festival on April 12.  The interactive exhibit runs through July 12.
The exhibit, created by the Kohl’s Children’s Museum of Greater Chicago in Glenview, Illinois, features 15 interactive, multi-sensory components that incorporate reproductions of works by master artist, Marc Chagall. It has been hosted by such museums as the Austin Children’s Museum, the Manhattan Children’s Museum, the Pittsburgh Children’s Museum, the William Breman Jewish Heritage Museum in Atlanta, GA and the Young at Art Museum in Davie, Florida. The exhibit offers children an introduction to art while allowing children and adults to develop a greater understanding and appreciation of all forms of artistic expression by examining color, composition, light and texture.
Georgann Carlton, Explorations V Children’s Museum CEO, stated “From his paintings to his tapestry, Marc Chagall was acclaimed for his use of color.  It’s exciting to bring this interactive celebration of color to our children and families.”
The exhibit, sponsored by Polk County’s Tourist Development Council, will be coming in March with a special premier during the 33rd Annual Children’s Festival on Saturday, April 12.
The exhibit is included with museum admission, which is $7 per person. Senior Citizens are 65 + are $3.50. Teachers and military with ID are $3.50. Children under two are free. Museum admission is free to members. Annual Family Memberships may be purchased for $70.
