Meets on the first Thursday of the month from September through May, 6:30-8pm. This is Lakeland Art Guild’s monthly meeting and program for visual artists.

Cameron Holmes Gallery Exhibit

This exhibition runs from February 3-27. The exhibit reception is from 5-7pm on February 11. Gallery hours are Monday-Thursday, 10am-2pm.

Chinese New Year Celebration

Explorations V celebrates Chinese New Year from 1-4pm on Saturday, February 1. Celebrate the Year of the Rat with fun activity tables lead by the Museum’s Chinese Family Ambassadors. General admission $9, members are free. FYI – The actual date of Chinese New Year in 2019 is January 25.

International School Day of Peace and Non-Violence

Book Buddies

Mondays, 10:30am. An early literacy program for children not yet reading. Explorations V Children’s Museum programs are designed to focus on a particular learning style and/or developmental level and have fun themes that rotate monthly. Explorations V Children’s Museum delivers educator-directed programming daily as part of general admission or museum membership.

Transcendence

On exhibit January 11 – February 16, 2020 in the George W. Jenkins Student Gallery. Polk County High School Exhibition This exhibition features artworks by students grades 9-12 from Polk County School District high schools. Reception: Friday, January 11 at 11 am

Blackbird

Jan 8 & 9 @ 7:30pm. Intended for mature audiences. Tickets: $10. David Harrower’s play was inspired in part by the crimes of sex offender Toby Studebaker, and depicts a young woman meeting a middle-aged man fifteen years after being sexually abused by him when she was twelve.
