ART HISTORY LECTURE SERIES

With your professor
Dr. H. Alexander Rich
Executive Director and Chief Curator

This course covers all the greatest hits of the Rococo, Neo-Classical, and Romantic periods (1715 – 1840), from the rise of the academic salon and the art of the French Revolution to the new, dramatic types of history, genre, and landscape paintings that set the stage for modern art. Join Dr. Rich as he takes you on an incredible, interactive art historical journey through the 18th and 19th centuries; each week, you’ll dive into the past to meet artists like Watteau, David, Ingres, Vigée-LeBrun, Goya, Delacroix, Turner, and countless others, and return to the present with an expert understanding of why their game-changing masterworks still matter today.
