Norm PortraitTheatre Winter Haven’s renowned producing director, Norm Small was honored at Theatre Winter Haven’s Annual Gala as recipient of the Polk Arts Alliance 2nd Annual Hall of Fame Award on Saturday, April 25 at the historic Ritz Theatre in downtown Winter Haven.

The SEASONS OF LOVE: A TRIBUTE TO NORMAN M. SMALL was held by his friends, colleagues and supporters to honor Norm Small for his contributions to the Arts and Culture in Polk County and by celebrating his retirement with a full house gala event. The Gala and fundraiser, a tribute to his many years of work in our County highlighting his four decades of work was a moving tribute to Norm for his 45 years of leading Theatre Winter Haven to Florida’s Most Honored Community Theatre and his leadership in Arts Education.

The Polk Arts Alliance was thrilled with the opportunity to award Mr. Small with the lifetime recognition of the Artist Hall of Fame Award. This is the 2nd annual award presented to a recognized Polk County artist for their contribution to the Cultural Arts in our County.

“We could not be more pleased and proud to present this award to Norm Small for all he has done for over 40 years to bring world Class Theatre to our county. He is an educator, mentor, award winning director and producer and has put exceptional community theatre in our county on the map!” Meri Mass, Executive Director of the Polk Arts Alliance.

The Award is presented to Norm Small and an established Artist Hall of Fame list will be posted at the Polk County Historical Museum as well as a virtual list of awardees will be in perpetuity on the Polk Arts Alliance web site www.polkarts.org.

This award is made possible in part by support from the Polk County Board of County Commissioners, a grant from the Polk County Arts, Culture & Heritage Committee, sponsors and supporters including Theatre Winter Haven Board of Directors, Ritz Theatre, Drummond Company and Visit Central Florida.
