Meet the Sentimental Journeymen Barbershop Chorus

The Sentimental Journeymen is an all male a cappella chorus who performs in the barbershop style. They rehearse on Thursday evenings at 7:00 PM in the Parish Hall of St. Matthew Catholic Church on Overlook Drive in Winter Haven. Rehearsals do not occur on major holidays, like Christmas, New Year’s Eve or Day, and more than likely on Independence Day (July 4th). Although, Independence Day would be the perfect time to hire the chorus or a quartet to perform at your special event.

Repertoire typically includes standards and show tunes, novelty songs and patriotic songs. Goals are to prepare for local performances and enjoy the fellowship of other male a cappella singers.

The Sentimental Journeymen is always seeking tenor voices to balance the ensemble. In the barbershop style, the tenor harmonizes above the melody and is frequently asked to sing a B flat or C above middle C often in head voice or falsetto.

Interested men are invited to attend a regular chapter meeting at 7pm on any Thursday night in the parish hall of St. Matthew Catholic Church on Overlook Drive in Winter Haven.

Sentimental Journeymen 4-tetThe Sentimental Journeymen Chorus and its various quartets, are available to perform locally for an agreed upon fee or free of charge depending on the event. In addition, they typically produce an annual show in the fall as a fundraiser.
